Nestled in the small village of Gaujac, Rhone Retreat Bed and Breakfast, originally a religious school, provides the perfect base for your Americans in Provence adventure. Lovingly restored, modernized and converted to a delightful B&B with unique boutique hotel type amenities throughout the property, the traditional main house provides a full kitchen for those participating in the Running with Knives tour, with meals served in the location of your choice; or if you have selected the Roaming the Rhone wine tour, end of the day tastings can be enjoyed throughout the property. In addition there are two detached cottages, each with two bedrooms and one bath, comfortably accommodating up to 4 adults each. Convertible sleeper sofas can provide additional space for 2 in each cottage. The walled garden, pool, vine covered dining arbor, and numerous private terraces and patios allow our guests to relax and enjoy Provence like a local.
Located on the Gard side of the Rhone River, Gaujac provides the perfect location for you to discover Provence, arguably the most diverse region of France. From the Camargue where wild horses freely roam the Mediterranean delta plains to the breathtaking views atop Mr. Ventau in the Southern Alps, the Americans in Provence base provides easy access to beautiful historic villages rising from steep rock hillsides; fortified towns nestled among vineyards, fields of sunflowers or lavender; as well as the culture found in the 1300’s papal home of Avignon or Roman town of Arles. In addition to the unique architectural and cultural heritage, walking centuries old cobblestone streets and enjoying authentic French food and wine ensure your Provence getaway introduces you to the best of France.
